WOMAD Charlton Park 2014
Why do I need to register my teenagers?
Under the terms of our licence for this festival WOMAD are responsible for managing the safety and well being of all children and young people, under the age of 18 at the festival this is a clause known as: “Protection of Children from Harm”.
When attending the festival, everyone who enters the event is entering licensed premises.
Under the licensing laws, all young people under the age of 18 have to be with an adult who is responsible for their behaviour and well being whilst on “the premises”.
WOMAD understands that often young people will not be camping with their parents/guardians once they get beyond a certain age however, it remains important for these young people to be adequately supervised for the duration of the festival.
In previous years there were a small number of cases where young people either required medical intervention or were behaving in a manner that was anti-social and required the involvement of the parent or guardian, and WOMAD needed to contact the parent / guardian, to ensure access to this information registration is required.
